Tour Guides
Over the course of the academic year, many enthusiastic club members received tour guide training by the friendly professors and staff at the Redpath Museum. Spencer Ng and Amberene Chunara now give scintillating tours of the mummies section to the general public. We invite you to come out and join them Sunday afternoons in the foyer of the museum.
Tour Guide Training: Mineralogy, Dinosaurs, Mummies and Ethnology
We are planning on coordinating a tour guide training of the Mineralogy section in the near future. If you are interested in becoming a mineralogy tour guide, or if you have an interest in mineralogy, you are more than welcome to join in on the training session. Wednesday, September 27th, at 4:00 pm. Mummies and Ethnology on Thursday, September 28th at 3:00pm
Training for the Mineralogy section of the museum will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 4:00 PM. Students should meet in the foyer.
Training for the Mummy/Ethnology exhibits will take place on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 3:00 PM (again, we'll be meeting in the foyer). This training session will be conducted by Amberene and myself and will include information on all of the exhibits located on the third floor, tips on tour guiding within the museum to a variety of audiences as well as a peer review tour guiding session during which student tour guide trainees will get to briefly present to one another. Literature on the exhibits will also be handed out. A follow-up session will be announced on Thursday. If you cannot make this session for any reason, please contact me ASAP (spencer.ng@mail.mcgill.ca) so that Amberene and I can arrange for an alternative session. Tour guides trained during this coming week will get a chance to show off their knowledge to alumni as we do Homecoming tours!
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow and Thursday!

Outreach program
Energetic Redpath Museum Club members have visited Willingdon and Foresthill elementary schools for interactive teaching sessions on different things related to the museum. In the past, club members have sifted through the Redpath Museum's impressive basement collection in search for rocks, minerals, bones, fossils ( what else too?) to bring to the children.
These outreach programs are an ongoing undertaking of the Redpath Museum Club members. They offer an interesting teaching experience to participants that animate the interactive sessions.
